Dearest Ann,
Our entire family is so deeply saddened and sincerely sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved husband and our beloved Dr. Nation.
Our family is so fortunate to have been blessed with nearly 30 years of Dr. Nation's gentle manner, compassionate and professional care, as well as his sparkling smile and quick wit. Each of our four children have such fond memories of their beloved Dr. Nation. Doctors as gifted and special as he are certainly few and far between.
Clear is my memory of our first visit with our firstborn. Precious is the memory of Dr. Nation smiling and asking that same firstborn, then a 28 year old young man, "Don't you want to see a real doctor, now?"
Dr. Nation's level of care and compassion always went above and beyond. One such memory is his meeting us at the office on a Sunday morning as I was certain our screaming toddler's arm had come out of the socket. Dr. Nation calmly approached the exam table, smiled and asked our little one to give him a high five. Our son quickly smiled and, just as quickly, returned a very vigorous high five. I apologized profusely at having Dr. Nation come to the office on a Sunday morning for seemingly nothing. He simply smiled and told me, sometimes the arm just settles itself back in and not to worry as he was happy our boy was fine.
Ann, you and Dr. Nation have truly been a gift for which the Melin family is most grateful. Our hearts hurt for your loss. He will truly be missed.
Sincerely,
The Melin Family ~ Dave, Candy, Jared, Travis, Brady, Carly
