Robert MacNair Obituary

ROBERT "BOB" WYNN MacNAIR

Bob was born in the town of Hemet in Riverside County, CA., June 14, 1928, the first child of Helen Tanner and Robert Leslie MacNair.

Bob was raised in Glendale, CA., where he graduated from Glendale High School in 1946. He attended Occidental College, graduating in 1950, a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. Following college, Bob married Anne Miller of Lindsay, CA., and entered the Army to serve during the Korean War.

Upon leaving the Army, Bob began his career at Coast Federal Savings & Loan (Coast Fed. Bank) where he held responsibilities for appraisal, marketing, branch and facilities administration, retiring in 1998 as a vice president and the company's longest-tenured employee.

The many lifetime interests Bob enjoyed included aeronautics, astronomy, music, political philosophy, reading, golf and his hometown of Hemet in the beautiful San Jacinto Valley. He especially loved sharing golf, books and holidays with his family.

Bob passed away peacefully on October 23, 2013, at Solheim Lutheran Home in Eagle Rock, CA., surrounded by family and loved ones. He was preceded in death by Anne Miller MacNair, the mother of his children, and by his cousin and best buddy, Chet Kline. He leaves behind his long-time love, Merrilyn Nash; his sister, Jocelyn Campbell; and his seven children: Jennifer (Joseph Marrufo), Bud, Cameron (Donna), Andrew (Jackie), Leslie Ortega (Carlos), Hugh (Roslyn), and Dana (Ted Field). Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
We will miss you dearly and are so lucky
to have had your love.
