RICHARD "DICK" WARREN JANKINS
Retired USN WWII Veteran
(1941 – 1961)
Age 91, of Canoga Park, died in his home on June 29, 2014. He was born March 3, 1923 to parents Doris (Hackett) and George Jankins in Springfield, Massachusetts. He is survived by daughter, Tracy L. Siebrecht, and son, Richard G. Jankins, and their mother, Jeannine; and four grandchildren, Trevor, Cheyann, Brandon and Blake.
Dick was a proud WWII USN veteran where he trained to be a sound device operator and was in wartime action in the Atlantic and Pacific arenas and remained active through his retirement. After leaving the Navy, he was employed by Litton Guidance and Control as an electronics tester and retired after 23 years of service. He was a life member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. A member of the Veteran of Foreign War Post and Disabled American Veterans which he was active in all for many years.
Aside from being a loving Father and Grandfather, he created unique relationships with each person he met in his life. With each relationship he became a loyal friend, always willing to engage in a conversation and expressed his big heart to most. Dick has left us crying but will be joining family and a long list of friends. He has been reunited to be part of their world and make them smile once again. Dad - We love you and will be greatly missed.
