To Lynda, Luci and family.

We send our deepest smypathy at this time with the loss of your mother. She was a great Texan and a gracious lady and we will miss her and her devotion to you all and to the people of this country. My mother always refers to Lady Bird as the "Jewel" of this state and she is right. She made this state her canvas and painted many beautiful pictures with her love of wildflowers. We have her to thank each year when the bluebonnets start to bloom. We have always been proud that President Johnson was our "Texas" President and your mother was such a great First Lady. They made us proud to be Texans. We saw your mother many years ago walking up the trail out at the park, but didn't want to disturb her in stopping to say hello. You could tell she was enjoying her walk with friends. We were just at the park on Friday and drove down RR 1 past the ranch house and it is still such a marvel to be surrounded by such beauty, history and grandure. No one will ever be able to produce the large amount of work for our nation to share in for the rest of our lives as did both your mother and father. Please accept our condolenses and our hope that your fondest memories of Lady Bird keep you uplifted during these next difficult days. With our thoughts, prayers and love.
