So sorry for your loss. May the God who comforts all the mouning ones be with you in your time of need. Isa 61:2
I was sorry to miss the memorial for Patty, but am pleased to be able to write about her here.
We had in common doctor husbands, children enrolled in local public schools, keen interest in education and the same Democratic politics. And when circumstances required, Patty turned herself into a successful entrepreneur and never looked back. I will remember her always as bright, funny and vivacious.
My heart goes out to you for the deep loss you must be feeling for your beloved Patricia. How sad to lose someone so loved and so needed. May you find comfort in prayer and in one another. (Jeremiah 29:12,13)
My condolance to the family. I loved Patti & loved working at Second Act. There was never a dull moment and I learned alot.
It was very fitting that there was a rainbow at Patti's memorial. That is exactly how she taught me to hang the clothes in her shop ROYGBIV! I bet that was Patti's way of telling us everything is just fine and she is having fun! Just like she always told us to do.
Mrs. Alksne was one of my absolute favorite La Jolla moms. She was a Brownie leader for the Torrey Pines girls, and I also remember her coming to Scripps Elementary to talk about the Arts. Whenever I saw her around town I always would say "Hi, I remember you! You're Lorna's mom and my Brownie leader." She was a kind, sweet soul who made the world a sweeter, more beautiful place through her presence. She will be missed.
My condolences to the family. May the God of all comfort sustain you during this time of great sorrow.
Genuine, no nonsense, compassionate, sharp as a tack, Patti was a commanding presence and gracious proprietor in her business domain, Second Act. My daughters and I shared countless conversations and visits with her as we learned the art of keen eyed and frugal shopping from the best of mentors. Patti's life was full, purposeful, and she has left the world a little bit better because she was here. Peace and rest, Patti.
My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.
My sincere condolences to the family, I had the honor to meet Patty thru her good friend Ann Arndt , I know Patty will be missed by many. I know Today was her memorial & it rained . but the delight of the beautiful rainbow that appeared ; I know her spirit still travels thru this universe time and time again. God bless
The shop on Girard was really my only connection with Patti, but decades later I still remember her. Such a vivacious personality, she pulled things from her stock which she thought would suit you, and she was usually right. I know her family misses her greatly but she lives on in the memories of so many.
I've enjoyed knowing Patricia since she opened the shop on Girard. It was always a warm and professional environment. I'm going to miss her.
Patti, a La Jolla icon has bid us adieu. We shall not see her like again in our fair hamlet. Her friends, family and our village have lost one of the jewels with infinite facets and La Jolla will shine far less brightly. Godspeed.
My condolences to your family. May the "God of comfort" continue to provide strength, endurance, and comfort to your family during your time of grief and sorrow.
