I just saw a story of Elvis on the news and his girlfriend at the time of his death in 1977. I thought of Lamar as he was at our office a lot in Nashville and at my wedding at my boss's home in Oct. 1977. We got a call the day before that Elvis was not looking good. Then received the call the next day. Lamar was funny, great and a wonderful person and I still see him as one who was carrying him out of the funeral service. I am in a way surprised to hear of Lamar's passing and sad but time goes so fast. Lamar has always been someone who was nice. He was even at my wedding with Little David Wilkins. Always on the go.

I wish I could have met you. I read the book that You, Marty Lacker, and Billy Stnaley wrote about Elvis. Lamars' retelling of the stories made for great reading. It was as if you were sitting down having a beer with the guy. You could tell that this man loved Elvis. He was proud of his time with the man, and....with his "Mafia" friends. God Bless your memory. You gave joy to so many who never even met you, through your book, your interviews. The humor always came thru!
