Belen P. Orozco
1938 – 2014
A Mass of Christian burial for longtime Lamar resident, Belen P. Orozco will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday October 1, 2014 at the St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Lamar. Celebrating the Mass will be Reverend Charlie Sena and burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Lamar.
A rosary service for Belen will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday September 30, 2014 also at St. Francis de Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Visitation for Belen was held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday September 30, 2014 at the Peacock Family Chapel as well as prior to the rosary and Mass at the church.
Belen P. Orozco was born on August 27, 1938 in Lamar, Colorado to Ramon and Antonia (Jara) Arias and departed this life on Saturday September 27, 2014 at her home in Lamar with her family by her side at the age of 76,
Belen was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband – Eloy I. Orozco; by one daughter – Patty "Lady" Cook and by one granddaughter – Patricia Orozco.
Belen Orozco is survived by seven children – Ray (Ramona) Orozco of Lamar; Jesse (Henrietta) Orozco of Littleton, CO; Valerie (Martin) Orozco-Malloy of Orland Park, IL; Gino (Bobbie) Orozco of Corona, CA; Marcellino (Birgit) Orozco of Hermosa Beach, CA; Carlos (Brenda) Orozco of Greeley, CO; and Jim Orozco of Lamar; by one son-in-law Mike Cook also of Lamar; by 16 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; by five siblings – Delfina Arias of Lamar; Lupe (Lee) Adame of Springfield; Alfred Jara; Richard Jara; and Toni Jara; also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Lamar Area Hospice either directly or through the funeral home office.
