I think Mrs. Peters was a very brave woman to leave her past behind to find a bright future. I remember when she came to the U.S. I am so thankful she did,so women throughout the world can realize they can start over.May God watch over her and care for her soul for eternity.

Being the daughter of a woman who also left a socialist/communist country, I know first hand the turmoil felt throughout her life and how it never goes away. I pray that her daughter finds solace in the wonderful moments and concentrates solely on those memories. May God bless you. Vye Carlile; Salem, OR.

Rest in Peace Ms. Lana. Thank you for sharing your story (your life) with America.

It is clear that Lana was an unbelievably strong woman. I am sure her choices were made with great thought and consideration. We can all learn a great deal from her.
I am the second generation of Eastern European immigrants. I know my grandparents struggle moving to a new land and leaving their country and family behind was an enormous sacrifice. Had it not been for their convictions and hard work I would not be here today. To them I am eternally grateful.
Lana made a heartfelt decision to make a transition out of Russia. I am sure the press did not make the journey easy because of the Stalin name. I am not sure how many of us would have been able to do what she did with such grace, love and respect for mankind. May she rest in peace and may her name never be forgotten in the history books as a woman of conviction and strength.
