Everett Foltz Obituary

Everett Paul Foltz

MILLERSPORT: Everett Paul "Tiny" Foltz, 89, was born April 9, 1924, to Herman and Hazel Foltz in Baltimore, OH. Everett left home to serve his country in WWII and was decorated with the Purple Heart Medal for his honorable service in the Battle of the Bulge. Everett returned and married Caroline (Piccirilli) in 1950. The couple settled in Pataskala and raised four children. Everett protected his community as an Auxiliary Deputy for Licking County. The family later relocated to Millersport where he worked for Walnut Township. Everett later retired from the Columbus Gas Company after many years of service. Everett was a well-known supporter of the Millersport Lakers as both an athletic and band booster. He was also a member of the Millersport American Legion, Post 637 and the Baltimore VFW, Post 3761. Everett was a friend to many animals caring for horses, golden retrievers, and other pets.

Everett passed on to his final rest on August 25, 2013, surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by siblings Audrey Wise, Mary Ellen Berger, Charles Foltz, and Roy Foltz. Everett is survived by Caroline Foltz of Millersport, his wife of 63 years, sister Joan and brother Wayne Foltz of Newark; daughter Linda (Ronald) Jackson of Baltimore, son Gregory (Rebecca) Foltz of Baltimore, son Robert Foltz of Newark, son Thomas (Jennifer) Foltz of Millersport; grandchildren Brian (Abby) Jackson of Baltimore, Courtney (Daniel) Taubken of Gainesville, VA, Andrew and Rachel Foltz of Baltimore, and Aimee and Allison Foltz of Millersport; great-grandchildren Lucus and MaKenzi Jackson of Baltimore, Elizabeth, Gabriella, and Charlotte Taubken of Gainesville, VA and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the outpouring of support from family and friends over the recent months.

The family will receive visitors from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. on Saturday, August 31, 2013 with a funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 1, 2013. Both will be held at the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, 285 E. Main St. , with Pastors Steve Bush and Jerry Wiles officiating. Everett will be laid to his final rest at Millersport Cemetery.

Gifts of remembrance may be sent to Millersport United Methodist Church, PO Box 296, Millersport, OH 43046; Millersport Covenant Church, 11544 Summerland Beach Road, Millersport, OH 43046; or Golden Endings Golden Retriever Rescue, 3689 Hilliard Station Rd., Hilliard, OH 43026.

Foltz Family; so sorry to hear of your great loss, many measure a persons life by there great deeds or performance's in life. I never had the privilege to meet Everett but I did work with one of his son Robert (Rob). I have heard it said Father like Son if that is true Everett was a great person. Rob is a good person in everyway....so I would consider Everett to have been a good person. May God bless Rob and the whole Foltz Family in their time of loss.

To the Foltz family -- we send God's blessings and comfort to you during your time of loss. We remember Tiny as we rode horses with Ronnie Smith, the horseshoe man, on trailrides plus seeing him at Watkins activities serving as a County Sheriff.

Carolyn and family, I am so sorry about the passing of Tiny. He was an incredible man with a heart of gold. He will be forever cherished and missed. He has been a figure in my life since I can remember and I have had the great pleasure of living next door to you for the last 3 years. It's just not the same pulling up after work and the garage door is down and he is not there to wave at everyone that passes by. R.I.P. my dear friend. Earth is not the same without you but Heaven sure is a whole lot brighter.
