Stuart Helser Obituary
GRAND RAPIDS, MI: Stuart Douglas Helser, age 27, went to be with our Lord Jesus on January 20, 2015, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Stuart was born in Fargo, North Dakota, on June 27, 1987. He lived in Syracuse, New York before moving to Lancaster, and graduated from Lancaster High School in 2006, where he participated in many activities and athletics. Stuart attended Indiana Wesleyan University and Ohio State University where he majored in Business Administration. Following college, Stuart pursued his entrepreneurial and business mindset in landscaping and remodeling.
Stuart was a member of Fairfield Christian Church where he made his confession in faith and was baptized into the Lord Jesus Christ on September 11, 1999.
Stu was a whirlwind of wonder. Creative, fun, and hard-working, he made an art out of mowing and making things new again. He adored the innocence of God's world, especially in children, animals, and all of nature. He took joy in the outdoors, whether it was in the woods hunting, on the golf course, or at the family farm with a campfire roaring. Stu was a loyal, passionate individual, and his artistic eye could find beauty in a piece of lumber or a bridge in Georgia. With a soft voice and ornery smile, he found and attracted the love and loyalties of all those who knew him. With his philosophical heart, he was known to turn the tide in a room with a simple phrase or knowing grin. Seemingly taken from us too soon, "though he die, yet shall he live" in eternal Spirit and in our hearts.
Stuart was preceded in death by his grandfather, Howard E. Helser in 2000.
Stuart is survived by his parents, Buzz and Diane (Dupler) Helser; his twin brother, Reid, younger brother, Nick; and sister, Tara (Brian) Bane. He is also survived by paternal grandparents, James and Jane Smith; maternal grandparents, Carlos and Anne Jane Dupler; uncles, Doug Dupler, Greg (Megan) Helser, Todd (Barbara) Helser; nephews, Lucas, Steffen, Fin; nieces, Iris, Emma and Haidyn, to whom he was a second father; first cousins, Greg Jr., Madeline, Max Blake and Bradley Helser; extended family, Mary Widener, Scott and Susan Smith, Kelly Smith and Nancy Symbolik. Stuart was truly blessed by the love of countless family and friends, especially Jordan, Q, Bleu, Georgie, Joe, Rusty, Luke and John.
Calling hours are 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 PM on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Halteman-Fett and Dyer funeral home. Funeral services 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Fairfield Christian Church, Lancaster. Interment at St. Matthew's Cemetery in Sugar Grove, Ohio.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Foundation Shelters, 800 W 6th Ave, Lancaster, Ohio 43130.

My son just received a scholarship award in memory of Stu Helser, set up by Lancaster Coach Bill Behrens. Although we never knew Stu, the impact Stu made on the heart of his coach will now be remembered by us forever. What a special kid Stu must have been.
