Elvires Castellano, 97, passed away Feb. 1, 2018, at his home with loved ones by his side.
He was born in Chapelle, N.M., to Jose and Teresita Castellano on April 29, 1920.
Elvires was preceded in death by his lovely wife Carmen Castellano, his children, Emily, Gerald, Margaret, Benjie, Michael and deceased brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his sisters, Cesaria Montoya and Celina Lesperance, and his brother Mel Castellano (Linda); his children, George (Joette), Carol (Joe), Virginia (Richard), and Lawrence (Frances); 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and his special friends Andy and Marcos Rivera, Flavio De La O, and Gilbert Arguello and so many more.
Elvires will always be remembered as the honorable and loving man that he was. There wasn't a place that he didn't go that someone didn't know him. He will be greatly missed. God has called home one of his finest!
A rosary will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Las Vegas, N.M. on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 10:30 a.m., followed by a mass at 11 a.m. Graveside services will follow at the Bernal Cemetery immediately after the mass. The pall bearers will be his grandchildren.
