Jerry was one of the greats and a true gentleman. His excellence as an artist is obvious, but his legacy is also demonstrated by the many Michigan graduates who continue his mission. He will be missed dearly, but his work and the lives he touched will live on.

This man is still a legend, -and a National Treasure! Everything I have read here I have felt and experienced for myself. Professor Hodge was the reason for so many students attending Michigan, and then carrying on his traditions. Many grads hold top positions in this field around the country and the world, a testament to his influence and success as an educator. He commanded a standing ovation at the 100th Celebration of Medical Illustration in Baltimore last summer, simply by standing up and saying his name. He was the master and at the very top of his field, -everyone recognized that and paid him the respect he deserved.
His artwork is always a treat to take in, -his talents were endless along with his patience and technique. It never ceased to amaze me what he had done last and what he was working on at the moment. And he did that all of his life!
On a personal note, Jerry was the most interesting guy I think I've ever met! He and Claire were a sweet couple and I'm so lucky and blessed to have known them.
Lindy and John, thank you for sharing your Dad all these years, -condolences to you and your family. Please know the incredible influence he had on me and the others whose lives were changed forever by Gerald Parker Hodge.

With deepest sympathy for the loss of such a wonderful, generous soul. His talents that he shared with so many will live on forever. I am so fortunate to have in my home one of his paintings. I will cherish it always and remember Jerry Hodge with affection and thanks for his generous nature.

My sincere condolences to the Hodge family.

Professor Hodge was the most influential mentor I ever had. Although he taught techniques for medical illustration, I learned a lot more from him about diligence, persistence, craftsmanship, and the pursuit of excellence.

I wish I could thank him again for all he did to help me and for the inspiration he provided.

Gerry's legacy is not just the astounding talent that touched thousands in so many different fields, but in his kindness, good nature and spirit. The world is better just for him having been here. Rest in peace, Gerry.
