My mother and I are devastated at the passing of Joyce Black. We met her and Stanley in Acapulco, Mexico many years ago. Joyce and Stanley have been extremely kind to me and my family. Whenever we went out for dinner, I made it a point to sit next to Joyce. She made me laugh so much that I hardly ever touched my dinner. Rest in peace, Joyce Black. You will always be missed and love by so many people.

I had the fortune to meet Joyce for the first time and have dinner along with Stanley and she made me feel as if she knew me whole our lives. Her wit would keep anyone who takes himself seriously, quite humble; whole dinner was a humbling experience with full of laughter—what a wonderful life. Joyce will be sadly missed by all who knew her even by those who met her only once.
What a joy it was to spend time with you and although the miles separated us whenever we were in LA you were always the gracious hostess. We shall miss your great sense of humour and we wish your family ' a long life'
We have known each other all our lives and I am grateful for that. You are a wonderful person. I've no doubt that your Mother was partly responsible for the kindhearted and caring woman you truly are. I am so sorry for your loss.
One evening at Jill's house, Joyce educated me on politicians, fundraisers and where all that money went after a race. Every election since I remember what Joyce told me and her lively and colorful words for all the politicians. She was a bright force of nature...smart strong and full of life. Rest in peace. You leave a legacy of stories and love.
We will miss all of the great laughs, and the good times we passed with you. You were a good friend. Always ready to help others. You will be missed by all who loved you.
Loss of Mother Poem
Now that I am gone,
remember me with smiles and laughter.
And if you need to cry,
cry with your brother or sister
who walks in grief beside you.
And when you need me,
put your arms around anyone
and give to them what you need to give to me.
There are so many who need so much.
I want to leave you something --
something much better than words or sounds.
Look for me in the people I've known
or helped in some special way.
Let me live in your heart
as well as in your mind.
You can love me most
by letting your love reach out to our loved ones,
by embracing them and living in their love.
Love does not die, people do.
So, when all that's left of me is love,
give me away as best you can.
Praying and thinking of family and loved ones.
You were the adult I always loved to sit next to when I was growing up. Your stories and comments on every single person in the room will stay with me all my life.
My you rest in peace.
Love Anna (daughter of Alvin and Bobbye Dick-Steinberg)
