He wrote a lovely poem about Captain Fred Gray after that pilot perished in the bombing of Continental Airlines Flight 11 on May 22 1962. The poem, "top-o-climb" was published in the Denver Post.

He was my ever-present, always loving and delightful Grandpa who I know loved me to the moon and back. I can't tell you how much it has meant to have him in my life for 41 years. I am very blessed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Richard S. Grigsby flew with Albert E. Goodwin, Jr.

Dick was a friend of my wife Valerie and me for more than 30 years. He and I shared a love of flying and fishing. This led to many pleasant days fishing and "hangar flying". Dick's encyclopedic knowledge of aviation and ability to recall people and events reaching back more than 70 years, was extraordinary. He was a great story teller, poet and loved to sing. Dick loved his family and had a great many good life long friends. He was a classy gentleman and will not be forgotten. RIP good friend.

I was happy to have worked in the back, as a Flight Attendant on many of his flights. I was present with my husband Fred, when Dick was honored for his 50 years as a Shriner. He was a nice man.
