The best training I every received. Bob was a first rate gentlemen and great instructor. We trained at the Japanese Center in the middle of summer, but was worth every minute. His techniques and mental training carried me through many close encounters.

I'm so honored to have trained under Mr. Koga. I began in 1974 at Rio Hondo college, while working for the Calif Youth Authority. His teachings were implemented into the California Dept. of Corrections Training Academy, in Modesto, Ca., in 1978/79, when I was began as a correctional instructor there. The Koga method was passed on to many correctional workers, who were so grateful for his training. Mr. Koga will never be forgotten. He was a tremendously positive role model for so many.

Meeting Koga Sensei and being chosen as his Uke was one of the greatest pleasures of my martial arts career. His kindness, calm and teaching are inspirational.

I always looked forward to attending Koga's classes with dread & great anticipation: I knew it was going to be a week long beating, but in the end I would be that much better for it! His training, mentoring & friendship helped make me the strong, confident person I am today with high standards for training, morals, ethics, and physical fitness. You were amazing, and you are sorely missed!

law Enforcement has lost a friend and mentor. Bob has given me so much in both my professional and personal life. I am sure Bob is on a mat somewhere teaching and angel how to "shrimp" accross the room!

I'm so sorry to hear about Bob. I was just getting ready to prepare a class and for some reason decided to look him up on goggle, and found out he passed. Bob had such a huge impact on me when I first became a defensive tactics instructor and it was an incredible pleasure to meet him. 20 plus years later, I'm still using what he taught.

It was an honor Mr. Koga ! Thanks for all you taught us, may your brothers and sisters in uniform carry your standard forward proudly. No give up...

Mr. Koga: While you trained me for hundreds of hours in martial arts over 4 years, your most valuable lessons were about life, and the respect of all people. I will never forget you. Sometimes I was too young to understand what you were saying, but I do now. Thank you for the safety and professional manner you brought to police everywhere in the free world.

Mr. Koga was beyond excellent. A great mentor, a great leader that changed law enforcement completely. It was a pleasure to be your student. Someday we all be together.

I knew Bob in the late 60"s and used his training methods as an instructor at the US Treasury Law Enforcement Training Center. The methods were revolutionary at the time, but so effective and practical. The Koga methods saved lives and made our jobs safer. I've lost count on the number of times I used Bob's training methods. The feedback from field agents was equally commendatory. He was years ahead of his peers as well as the police self defense community. He will be missed but his legacy will continue through the thousands of law enforcement professionals he trained. I pray that Bob is the arms of Christ our Lord, and that He will bless Bob's family, loved ones, and the men and women in law enforcement.
