ROSETT-EDELMAN, Susan Gurfein June 11, 1936-March 3, 2013 Beloved and loving wife of Thomas Edelman, devoted and loving mother, stepmother, grandmother, sister, and aunt will be much missed by her children David (Consuelo), Martha, and Danny Rosett; stepsons Jay (Alla) and Todd Edelman; sister Abby Hellwarth; grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and many friends. As a musician and music teacher, Susan brought joy, culture, and love into the lives of many. A native of New York City, Susan was a graduate of the High School of Music and Art, and Barnard College. She later earned a Masters Degree in Music Education at UCLA. As a piano teacher, Susan taught at USC's Community School, at the Colburn School of Music, at Santa Monica College, and taught private students in Brentwood and Santa Monica for many years. After moving to Los Angeles in 1961, she joined University Synagogue where she remained a member for the rest of her life. Susan will be remembered for her kindness, graciousness, and her distinctive, beautiful smile.
