Dianne Miller Obituary

MILLER, Dianne Marie

Dianne Marie Miller, 77, went home to be with her Lord on November 14, 2012. She was a woman of strong faith and love for her family. Dianne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Dianne was preceded in death by her husband Roger J. Miller, with whom she treasured 58 years of marriage. Dianne and Roger were married in June 1954 and made their family home in La Mirada, CA for 48 years. This event provided friendships, church and volunteer activities, and work that fulfilled her life. Dianne was an active member at St. Paul of the Cross Parish 1956-1964 and Beatitudes of Our Lord parish for 48 years. Through the years, she was involved in almost every ministry in the parish, including being a Master Catechist, Eucharistic Minister, Bible Study leader, Sacristan, and Minister to the Sick. As her children grew and left home, Dianne's wish was to further her education and was fortunate to have been accepted into the Mt. St. Mary's Graduate Program. She obtained certification by the National Association of Catholic Chaplains in 1987. As a certified Chaplain she worked in ministry at St. Jude Medical Center from November 14, 1988 through June of 1995. In 1996 Dianne received her Master's Degree in Pastoral Counseling from Trinity College. Dianne's love for sewing led her to create beautiful quilts these past many years for her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children Deborah Philbin, Dennis (Gayle) Miller, Mary Grace (Wesley) Albert, ThereseAnn (Stephen) Siegle, Daniel Miller and Marggie (Pete) Royston; 21 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and brother Robert Reynolds. A private service with family will be held at McAulay & Wallace Mortuary. A "Celebration of Life" Mass at Beatitudes of our Lord and burial at Olive Lawn will be held in January 2013. I feel blessed to be part of the Miller-Man-Friller family. Your mom's encouragement when I was seeking direction in my spiritual growth were a blessing I will never forget, nor will I forget her beautiful smile

What a life well lived! There is no question she will be greeted with such sweet words from her Maker - "Well done, my faithful servant". I'm sure the thoughts of your beloved mother will continue to shine through! Sending my deepest condolences.

Mom taught me so much about life, living her faith, unconditional loving, living in the present moment, accepting things that she couldn't change and changing the things she could. She gave all six of her children a stable upbringin and gave us an example of a loving marriage. She will be missed.
