RIP Mark. Such a shame. You will be missed
Thank you Mark for sharing your life and being such a wonderful man. We truly have some great memories that I will cherish forever. I love and miss you very much. My love, prayers and deepest sympathy to your family.
Mark was a player in my formative years at St. Joe's, and, though I only saw him periodically during the last several decades, the last time was only a few weeks ago. To me he will always be the bass player in 'the band' Early Times. And the paper boy. It's amazing how much he looks the same as back in the early 60's. He left too early. My condolences to his family. We have lots of early memories of Mark, back in the day. Seems like yesterday.
As Mr. Rogers said, "If you could only sense how important you are in the lives of those you meet; how important you can be to the people you may never dream of . There is something of yourself that you leave at every meeting with another person." Cathy Brewster & Ken Matsagas
So saddened to hear of Mark's passing. My family was also part of the St. Joe's parish. He was a grade ahead of me and played little league for my dad. Got to know him better at Millikan, and remember double-dating with him and Bonnie to Grauman's Chinese Theater and then, of course, to Bob's Big Boy. My thoughts and prayers go out his family.
Truely one of the good guys he will be missed.
Mark was the greatest example of a friend. He was family. I have been and am so sad.
So sad about Mark's passing. I'll miss that great smile and seeing him in the neighborhood and out on a Saturday night. RIP, my friend!
Good nature, good humor, good soul. Young at heart and truly, young indeed. Mark always had a smile for me and everyone he greeted. He lived, he Laughed, and loved. What a great imprint and message he left. I still can't believe I won't see those blue eyes smiling.
I am so happy our paths crossed. You will be greatly missed! Much Love, Paula

I still just can't believe it. I've known Mark for about 5 years. He was so warm and sweet and happy. He had a generous heart! A few years ago he brought over his margarita machine for my bday party. AND he brought me a cake from Creative Cakery. I was wowwed! I thought, what guy does that!? Everytime I ran into him he asked about my son Max. He spoke often of his kids and how much he loved going to the river with them. What a sweetheart. John (Hill) and I both miss him very much. The Angels are the lucky ones now...God Bless to Bob and all of the family.

Your friend Paul
RIP Mark Edmondson. Lots of fun memories of you long ago! My thoughts and prayers go out to his daughters and his brother, Bob.
I need a book to tell about my last 20 yrs with Daddy-O. He has become my very best friend. He was my roomy while with the race team and it was party at work and double party afterwards. Every minute was fun time with him around. Since racing he become very close to Molly and me like a mom and dad. At all the concerts in the park he would have a place saved for molly and me with food and drinks.
. We both like blues music and when he is at a good blues spot he might call me as late as 11 pm and I would go join him.
I guess I have to be thankful to have had him in my life as I will miss him so much. ( I hope his daughters keep in touch)
Molly & JT.
Mark, as everyone has already said, was a great guy and will be greatly missed.

My heart is broken over this news. I can't remember a time Daddy-O was without a smile on his face. What an amazing man.
One of the good guys! Can't forget what a great boat driver Mark was and the fun days at the Marine stadium race days! RIP my friend
Markey, as we all once called him back in the St. Joes days, and I were good friends. I recall many a day walking out the back door of his house and down the alley way to the local Thrifty store to buy candy, he live just around the corner from Millikan High. We were in Boy Scouts together and played baseball for the St. joes little league team. We used to double date once in a while in high school, he with Bonnie and myself with my Girlfriend. But after high school we didn't see much of each other but for the occasional bump into around long beach. The last time I do recall seeing him he drove by my parents' house in a Porsche, and I just happened to be out front with my Pops, we had a long chat and that was it, as always he was interested in what was going on and had that smile on his face, which I am sure you all remember. I can't help but , have tears in my eyes thinking about his families loss. My thoughts and goodwill go out to you all, I am sure he will be missed. looking at his picture, he looks much the same as he did 50 years ago. sincerely,
Mark, rest in peace. You were taken too young and too fast. May you watch over your friends and family and comfort them with memories.
I went to Millikan with Mark and had the privilege of hanging out with him on occasion. I would run into him every once and awhile in Long Beach and we would do a quick catching up on time. The last time I saw him was a year ago and he was purchasing some refreshments to go to the Seal Beach Pier and watch the Elm Street Band. He had the same smile on him that I always remembered. He was truly one of the good guys and will be missed by many and thought about often. My prayers are with his family.
So true he was rich in friends, and the kindest man I have ever met. My prayers go out to all his family and friends he will be missed by all.
I will miss you, Mark. Rest in Peace.
So happy to have been a part of your life. Thanks for teaching me some life long values.

Mark and I were friends in grade school. We both attended St. Joseph's Elementary School in Long Beach back in the mid-sixties. We both belonged to Boy Scout Troop 120 and Mark's father would often drive us to campouts and other Scout activities. Several of us delivered newspapers when there were still paper routes and I believe Mark delivered the "Independent". Since all of us had to deliver Sunday morning papers we would often meet at the Winchell's shop which was located on Palo Verde Avenue at the time. I remember Mark and I,along with several others from St.Joe's, attended one of the first Rolling Stone's concert at the Long Arena and after the concert we spent the rest of the day at Nu Pike riding the rollar coaster, just having a "boss and groovy" time (sixties speak). The picture of Mark in this obituary is what I remember about Mark from back when we were kids making our first skateboards out of old rollar skates and two by fours. Always a smile. God bless Mark and his family. I know he will be missed.
