Angelina G. Lucero, 85, lifelong resident of Dona Ana, NM died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012. "Kali" as she was fondly known was born Jan. 11, 1927 in Dona Ana to Isaac and Victoria Madrid Garcia. She was a faithful member of Our Lady of Purification Catholic Church, enjoyed reading, embroidering, music and playing the piano, but her passion was for her family. She will be forever deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her three daughters Roxeanne Lucero and husband Bruce L. Davis of Lincoln, NM, Giovanni "Gio" Gardiner and companion Norman Rhoades and Barbara Winn and husband Danny all of Dona Ana; Godchild Christina Chavez Kelley of Las Cruces; her brother Jerry Garcia and wife Erlinda of Dona Ana; sisters Senator Mary Jane Garcia, Elodia M. Garcia and Yolanda Gonzales and husband Miguel all of Dona Ana; two grandchildren Marice Sacoman and Charisse Winn and by her great-grandson Cade Luck. Angelina was preceded in death by her sister Emma G. Chavez and brothers Reymundo C. Garcia and Leroy Garcia. A rosary will be prayed tonight at 6 pm Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012 at Our Lady of Purification Catholic Church in Dona Ana, NM. A funeral mass to celebrate her life is at 10 am on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012 also at Our Lady of Purification with Fr. Miguel Macaya officiating with Rite of Committal to follow at the Dona Ana Cemetery. The honor of being a pallbearer goes to Joe, Jerry and Raymond Garcia Jr., Michael and Gabriel Gonzales and Jose Nicolas Granados. Honorary Pallbearers are Issac and Raymond Chavez and Miguel Gonzales. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the charity of choice.
