Frances Repp Obituary

When she had reached the age of 90, our mother Frances L. Repp was called back to Heaven on the seventeenth of October. This was also her last birthday her on earth as well. She was born in the year of 1923 in the town of Clarksburg, West Virginia to parents Eli Leslie and Ruth Long. Her father, Eli Leslie Long, was not only a lawyer but was also the state treasurer of the state of West Virginia for two terms. Her mother was originally from West Virginia too and had two brothers, her uncles Harold and Leland as well. Our mother, who was also a highly intelligent person, had attained a post graduate degree in religious education from Northwestern University in Illinois. This is where she met and married our father Ward as well. In school she was a script writer at WGN Chicago. She was married for 55 years to her husband. Ward, as well as having three children (Lance, Laura and Leslie) and adopted son (Larry) from Costa Rica. When she was not occupied with her children she was also a very good photographer chronicling our many travels overseas (Europe, Panama and Tunisia). She also wrote articles for newspapers, teaching and writing children's books as well. She will especially be missed by her family, her four grandchildren Sean, Stacey, Joshua and Christina and many friends as well. She is preceded in death by her daughter Leslie and her husband Ward. A memorial service is planned on November the 2nd at 1 p.m. in the University Methodist Church.

We are so pleased that my mother Frances Long Repp because of God's blessing, lived to her 90th birthday. We rejoice with her that she is in heaven! She was a good mom who labored in love over her family in cooking, hospitality,in our afflictions. She doted over us in our schoolwork and activities. Her godly character and caring for her husband and children has been the foundation of the woman I am today. She searched to know her Lord in a meaningful way near the latter portion of her life.
She will always be very precious and dear in our hearts until we meet again...With all our love in Him, Laura, Ernest, Christina,Joshua and Jordan, her only great grandchild.
