A few years ago my office was next door to Mr. Johnson's home. He grew the most beautiful tomatoes, and he was very generous in sharing them. He had a huge Spanish broom plant whose yellow flowers smelled absolutely wonderful. What a gracious gentleman he was.

It was a privilege to know Mr. Johnson.s Presidnt of the NMSU Army ROTC Alumni, I had many opportunities to visit with "Dick" and numerous AROTC Alumni functions. After hearing the comments from those who attended his induction into the Honor Company in 2008 as a Distinguished Gratuate, I missed 'Dick' at his charming best. God bless you for the life you lead. It was one of a kind.

Dick was the first and one of the finest Forest Supervisors I worked for in my 32 year career with the Forest Service. A real gentleman and friend who always had time to stop and visit with any employee.
