E. Mervin Hursh EPHRATA E. Mervin Hursh, 78, entered into rest at his residence surrounded by his family, on Monday, January 26, 2015. He was born in Earl Township to the late Eli H. and Sadie (Martin) Hursh and was the husband of Elsie (Weaver) Hursh with whom he shared nearly 56 years of marriage. Mervin was a member of the Meadow Valley Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference. He was a retired farmer. In addition to his wife, he is survived by seven sons, Larry, husband of Shirley (Lehman) Hursh of Stevens, Mervin, husband of Ella Mae (Zimmerman) Hursh of Ephrata, Delmar Hursh at home, Kenneth, husband of Vera Jane (Burkholder) Hursh of Ephrata, Robert, husband of Cheryl (Burkholder) Hursh of Stevens, Ernest, husband of Christine (Weaver) Hursh of Newport, Daryl Hursh at home; seven daughters, Nancy, wife of Mervin Huber of Stevens, Judy, wife of Glen Zimmerman of Myerstown, Rose, wife of I. Lamar Horst of Landisburg, Mary Jane, wife of Brian Martin of Lititz,Velma, wife of Nelson Martin of Annville, Marlene, wife of Dennis Burkholder of McClure, Gloria, wife of David Martin of Leola; 70 grandhchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ivan, husband of Marian (Nolt) Hursh of Ephrata, Lester, husband of Arlene (Sensenig) Hursh of Mt. Joy, Elvin, husband of Marian (Martin) Hursh of Lititz and a sister, Marian, wife of Dale Seibel of Hopewell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Curtis W. Hursh; two grandchildren, Regina Martin, Kenton Huber; a great-grandson, Jeffrey Wise; two sisters, Louella and Eva Jane Hursh. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Midway Mennonite Reception Center, 210 E. Lexington Rd., Lititz. Funeral services will take place on Thursday at 9:30 a.m., at the Meadow Valley Mennonite Church, 200 Meadow Valley Rd., Ephrata. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.
