The last I saw great Aunt Nora was at her 100th birthday party. Per her usual demeanor, she was so cute and so happy to see everyone. As Roxie said, we all loved her deeply, and the opera fudge was always the best. I wish now I would have made time to learn how to make it with her when she lived at Grandma's. Rest in peace, sweet lady, until we meet again.

We spend one Christmas with great aunt Nora in Mobile, AL where my in-laws, John and Vickie (whom she raised) lived at the time. From there we took a day trip to New Orleans. It's hard to believe that she would have been about 85 at the time. When I told my children that I stopped in to see her last December, they fondly remembered her and her fun loving spirit. Since that time my in-laws, John and Vickie and my husband John Jr. have passed away. I'm sorry that I won't be able to come to the funeral, but am so thankful that I found her a couple of months ago. She had no idea who I was, but thanked me often for taking the time to stop by. What a sweet lady, who gave so much of her life to raise 2 nieces. She is receiving her reward.

I remember my great aunt Nora since I was about 3 years old. She was always happy and smiling and and my mother (Mildred) said that she was her favorite aunt. As kids, I remember our mouths watering as we waited to eat her delicious Opera Fudge!!! Rest in peace Aunt Nora. You are truly loved
