To Ray's family...We knew Ray thru church. He sat behind us and we always talked either before or after the service and he was such a joy to talk to. He was such a kind & caring person and will be missed by those who knew him. Just remember all the wonderful memories that you have of him. You all are in our thoughts and prayers as we extend to you our deepest condolences on the loss of your Dad.

I am sorry for your loss and the loss to the world. Mr. Fields was a wonderful man & great teacher ( as all our teachers at MHS were). He really tried to help me, pull me through physics. He left fond memories for all who were lucky enough to have known him.

In 17 years of formal education, he was easily the best teacher I ever had. I didn't get great grades, but I learned useful physics and math. I'm an airline pilot now, and whenever I have to make a landing on a short, wet runway, I remember Mr. Fields. F=ma. Thanks.

I am extremely grateful to have been a student in Mr. Fields' physics class at Middlesex High School in 1972. While my father encouraged me to enjoy science as a pastime, Mr. Fields was able to inspire me to become a physicist! He, therefore, put me on the path to my career and life's work. While I certainly loved the material; it was Mr. Fields' determination to treat me and he members of my class as adults requiring us to work hard, think thoroughly and most importantly, comport ourselves properly as adults that had a huge effect on me becoming the person I am today. I have thought of him often throughout my life. I hope that his family is blessed and knows what a tremendous impact he had.

Best, best wishes,

He inspired me in mathematics and tried to in Physics. He was one of my favorite teachers at MHS. I am now a math teacher in Minnesota and like to think that I bring to teaching his same passion and sense of humor. He was an inspiration.
