Very sorry to hear of Don's passing. My prayers and thoughts are with the family.
December-15-17
While I did not know Don well we shared a common interest. For a number of years we crossed swords at the bridge table. I enjoyed every minute of it! He was always ready for the next hand. TTYL Don.

Don and I always had that special brother and sister relationship, since I was just a young girl. While still living in Winnipeg with my folks, Don boarded with them, he would always make us younger siblings popcorn, buy us pop and ice cream too, every pay day was his day to treat us kids and did we ever look forward to this special day.. He never forgot us.. He teased us most of the time and we would tease him also.. Barbara and I had the job of making the lunches for the men for the next day at work.. He so loved his apple pie that our mom made but we weren't going to let him enjoy that too much.. we decided to add some mustard on the bottom of his piece of pie that was for his lunch...I feel so sad about this now.. he came home after work and never said a word about this to Barbara or I.. can't siblings be terrible at times.. I believe Don did forgive us for that, as he and I have remained friends for all these wonderful years. He and I phoned every second week, just to talk and to hear the others voice. He no longer will make my phone ring, for this I am so very sad. I miss him so very much but he will always be in my heart and on my mind forever. He was a special brother to me and the rest of his siblings. Kim and Kelly you had one great dad and you both can be so proud of him.. take care both of you and do stay in touch, please. love from Don's sister, Norma Jean Ardell

I am so very sorry to learn of your Dad's passing. I met him at the flea market at the beach two years ago. We shared a birthday! I quickly learned that he was a very kind man who made me feel immediately welcome. Although I did not know him for a long time, I was instantly drawn to his generous soul. Take care and know that he will be missed.

My deepest sympathy to all Don's family. I've know Don the last few years while playing bridge in tournaments. He was very friendly and humorous. He will be missed.
