Barclay, Glenna, Jessica and Chris, so sorry for the loss of your Mom and Grandma.

My mentor, my Auntie Liz, was a significant adult in my world growing up. Auntie showed me how to love and nurture a child from within. I was a smart teenager and would often show up at her house on her bread baking day. She would let me eat her freshly baked buttered buns that were the biggest and fluffiest I've ever eaten! She passed away only four months after my Uncle Lawrence. It makes me smile to know these two lovebirds are reunited. I'm sure they are celebrating and dancing to all the heavenly CCR music in their dream cabin in the sky. I'm so grateful I was able to go home over the summer and introduce auntie to my newest grand baby Taya and my daughter Amaris. I also made a quick visit to see her in Sept after finding out she only had a limited time left on Earth. When we hugged good-bye at the end of my visit, Auntie and I knew we would never see or be with each other again in our mortal forms. I can still see her standing in my cousin Sharon's living room waving good-bye. Some unique mannerisms and characteristics I will always remember when thinking about my Auntie Liz are: how she smiled with her eyes just before she laughed or how she pushed away one of her single curls that happened to get loose on her latest "updo" when she was talking to you or how she had naturally long finger nails with perfectly shaped and curving nail beds. She loved to laugh, garden, order Avon and send little gifts in the mail. Whenever I see a tall stand of multi-coloured hollyhocks, I will remember how she would feed the birds, squirrels and even skunks. In the end, she always stayed positive and endured her suffering with dignity and courage. May the Creator guide her through her next transition on the other side. May my dear Elles cousins and their families and all who knew and loved her be given some comfort in the precious memories we share during this unbearable time of grief and loss.
