We had the greatest honour of meeting “Pete” and Maria at Second Cup in Regina. We had many mornings sharing stories and life journeys. When my husband's father came to live with us in Regina, there was an instant kinship with “Peter” Fitzgerald and “Pete”. They both had war stories they loved to share. Maria and I would laugh saying “we put a quarter in the slot, and off they would go.” They would talk endlessly.
We are so glad we had a chance to see both Pete and Maria in September when we visited Regina again. We had a beautiful visit on a sunny afternoon.
When you are fortunate enough to have someone come into your life, that leaves a huge footprint in your heart, it is difficult when they are no longer with us.
We are so lucky to have our memories, and they will help heal the void in our lives.
