I was shocked and saddened to learn from former colleagues of Mary Ann's passing. I have such fond memories of working with her during my years with the Ministry and especially during my time in Regina. We enjoyed so many good laughs as we visited about anything and everything! I will remember her as a very strong person who willingly shared a caring ear and down-to-earth advice. Her total devotion to her family, her work, her colleagues and her friends was truly inspirational. She is gone far too soon. My sincere condolences to her family and her friends near and far...

Hi Janette and Chad: I am sorry to have missed the memorial for your mum. Was at our cabin with the family and hope she would understand. Our kids are growing up fast and time with them is rare. I knew your mum as a co-worker but she was like a mum to us too. Our workplace and the folks in fish and wildlife are a close knit bunch because of people like Mary Ann. She made sure we had clean tea towels in the lunch room, coffee and cream in the fridge, and cookies "just because". And she scolded us too when we didn't get our BMO done on time or didn't do contracts right. Like a sergeant in the army Mary Ann was the backbone of a team here that work diligently to conserve the environment we love. And at the same time she was like the mother that looked out for all of us. She always gave 110% and her work had a positive impact on the world and the people around her. I feel blessed to have known her. So sorry for your loss, and that her time was short. She will be missed.

Mary Ann was a very special person; wise, humorous, warm and always willing to help out. Her ability to keep the Fish, Wildlife and Lands Branch and everyone in it organized and functioning was utterly amazing! And I am pretty sure she was a rock for all of her family members, of whom she spoke fondly. For the twenty years I knew Mary Ann, she always felt more like a dear friend than a colleague. I miss her. My heart goes out to all of Mary Ann's family. May you find comfort in your memories and each other.

Mary Ann was one of those special people that you may not see for months, even years, but with whom you could pick up a conversation without missing a beat. I always enjoyed listening to her workplace scuttlebutt and reminiscing about "Wild Bunch" workshops and conferences we attended over the years. I can't believe we got away with the antics we did. Of course, Mary Ann was never an instigator!!!
Mary Ann had a heart as big as all outdoors. She was continually helping others meet deadlines and solve problems at work. She lead by example. I am sure she was the same, if not more so, in her private life. My sincere condolences to Ron and the rest of the family as you have lost someone very special.
