My sympathy to all. I have a memory of Merle when I was a teenager and he visited my home in Rockglen when he was running for MLA . My parents were big supporters and we held fund raising card games in our living room ! . A very good man

My sympathy to the Sproule family on the loss of a great person who was not only a dedicated family man but gave generously of his time and talents to multi people and organizations. A man you can be so proud of as you cherish the memories and stories.

Dear Treasured Sproule family members: Every member of our family thinks the world of all the Sproules who we were so fortunate as to have grown up with. I personally knew Merle as he served on the Lafleche Credit Union Board and Lafleche Co-op Board where he worked closely with my father, Bill Hall. I had the pleasure of serving Sproule families when I worked in both the Lafleche Co-op and Credit Union as a youth and young man. In addition, it was due to Merle's influence that the Lafleche Wheat Pool sponsored me to Co-op College during summers, where I learned the important principles and practices of people working unselfishly together as equals for the common good: as in "one member one vote" with profits retained and rebated back to the local community. There are almost endless wonderful things about Merle, Aline and all the Sproules that I could write. I will close by saying thank you for Merle, Aline and all of you, a true and progressive community family whose members, led by Merle and Aline made the world a much better place for all. They live on in all they influenced and served.

I remember Merle from both Lafleche and Mesa Spirit; he reminded me so much of my own Dad (Hugh Crooks), and I know my Dad thought the world of him as well. My sincerest condolences to the family for the loss of a man who impacted your lives in such a positive way. His was a life well lived.
