1956 pulling an ice cold bottle of Orange Crush out of Willies water cooled drink chest cost $0.07. Meeting Willie 45 yrs later and he still said "Hi Merv" He will be missed. RIP friend.

Dear Colleen and Kelly, We are so sorry to hear that Willie is no longer with us. We send our deep condolences. Willie was the kindest man, and he was so nice to me when I was growing up. Now I am very sad that I did not see him more while he was in Regina, when he was just down the street from us; I alway thought that I would have more time.

Please let us know if there will be a public ceremony in Regina.

We send our deepest sympathies to you and your family.

Our family moved from the UK in 1960 and bought a house on 21 block Argyle Street. We frequented Connaught Confectionary and Willie was so kind and supportive to us. If we did not have enough money he would tell us just pay me later. I remember when he left to bring his wife back to Canada. It was also Willie that I would come back with a wife when I went to university in the States and he was right. What a great loving man. Wish I had been able to say a personal good bye.

We lived down the street from "Willy's" in the 50's and 60's and have such fond memories of going there to spend my allowance. Even though it was over 50 years ago, I'll never forget Willy. He made a strong impression on me as a young child because he was always so happy and friendly

Some of my earliest memories are of going to Connaught Grocery, which we fondly called "Willie's". Willie was such a sweet man, and he remembered all the kids by name. My condolences to the family.

I was sad to hear of Willie's passing today. Even though we moved from Regina in 1970 and had not seen him for over 40 years, it was a memorable visit of reminiscing when we had a chance to have a coffee tigether. Always a friendly and very kind man with a heart of gold. I shall always remember him and his hard working days at the Connaught Grocery.

My condolences to your family. I never new your dads last name but lived across the alley from him for decades. One winter my parents were staying with me while they underwent cancer treatments at the same time. I rented a spot for one month for dad to park in Willie's parking lot when he found out why they were here he never charged again. We always visited, waved when we saw each other. Talked about his tomatoes and the parties that some of his tenants had. The most memorable thing has to be the old old broom he would always have in hand as a walking stick. I am sad for your family and the old neighborhood but happy he will be returning to Regina for his eternal rest.

Dear Colleen, I am sorry to hear of your dad's passing. I have such fond memories of our childhood together and that includes some of the great meals your dad cooked for us after school. Take care in this sad time.
