Elva Johnson Obituary

Elva R. Johnson, 92, of Vandalia, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, died on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at her home.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Joe Lawson officiating. Burial will be in Maxey Cemetery in rural Smithboro. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials: Shriners' Hospitals for Children. Online condolences may be shared at www.millerfh.net.
Mrs. Johnson was born on Nov. 8, 1921, in Mills Township, south of Greenville, the daughter of William J. and Clara L. Schubert Hediger. She married Forrest D. Johnson on April 20, 1948, in Mulberry Grove.
She was a former employee of Bolder Electric, and was a housekeeper. She was affiliated with First Christian Church in Greenville.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Forrest Johnson; son, Lannie Johnson of Vandalia; daughters, Brenda and her husband Ted Ellis of Effingham, and Donna and her husband Ed Flesch of Forsyth; grandchildren, Michael, Amanda and Ben Flesch, and Matt Ellis and his wife Stephanie; one great-grandchild, on the way; and sister, Ruby Beckemeyer of Carlyle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Thomas Flesch; brothers, Lloyd, Orville and Earl; and sisters, Lucille, Ethel and Irene.
