Prayers for the Hardy family
February 06, 2014
This is a tribute I wrote about our Mother that was read at her funeral on Wednesday Feb 5. It is how we as a family felt. I hope your will see what a beautiful person she was and how we will miss her so much.

Our Mother

If I were to describe our Mother in one word, that word would be love. Her love and concern for her family, sisters, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was fierce, but gentle, overwhelming but understanding. We always knew that she would be there for each and every one of us, in good times and bad, through thick and thin and unconditionally. She would stand with you toe to toe, eye to eye and tell you " I told you so", and instantly make you feel that everything would be alright and that together, we could find a solution and everything would work itself out. She never hesitated to express her view's on life, love, money and how she thought we should take care of ourselves, each other and our family. We might not have chosen to take some of the advice our Mother gave us, and will confess that the majority of the time, we should have. She was a wise woman and someone you always knew would be there for you to talk to and give us a shoulder to cry on. In simple words, ' she always had our backs'. When she thought you were down and blue, didn't feel good or were sick, she wanted you there with her, so she could take care of you and knew that a pot of homemade vegetable soup, corn bread and her advice would make the problem and you feel better. She loved her family unconditionally, without hesitation or conviction. She instilled in each of us that family always came first.

Thank you Mama, for being the best Mother you could be for your 4 children. You were always there for us. We never doubted your love, concern and care and knew we could always come to you when our lives weren't going so well and share with you when our lives were . In your own unique way, you gave us the courage to stand up and face what life had to offer and make the best of any situation we were faced with. So many times you did without, just to make sure that we had what was needed to make our lives better. You taught us a lot about life and love. Love for family, for each other and love for ourselves. Thank you for your wisdom, your sense of humor and most of all your love. We will all miss you in our own way and will cherish the memories. Great memories that I will always keep with me, and your love in our heart's for eternity.

It is so very hard for us to say good-bye to our mother but God's loving care will indeed comfort us and our memories will give us happiness. You have my deepest sympathy in your grief and my prayers that you will feel God's close presence at this time.
