I have memories of Bob from the 70s when he was a biology student assistant at Columbus College. Happily we reconnected about 13 years ago and became friends as contemporaries. I miss him.
Deepest sympathy to Diana and the rest of the family
Diana - I am so sorry for your loss. I wasn't aware of Bob's passing until I drove by and saw the banner outside your driveway. Bob was a good man. I enjoyed the talks we had at dinner. Stay strong, as I know you are. God Bless you and your family. He is watching over you all and smiling at the love that surrounds you.
Diana and family, I was deeply saddened by the loss of my "Uncle Bob". I haven't seen him in a long time, but he was always in my thoughts. Growing up, he and Thena were my saviors. I waited all year for the trip to Georgia to see him. He was a wonderful and unique person.
To All the Family: I am sorry for your loss. I can't imagine.. I remember this whole family being there for our school and individuals. Mr. Best was always a family oriented hard working man.. May God be with y'all! I have lost touch along the way but think of y'all often! Hugs!
Diana and the Best family. I've just heard about Bob passing away.
Bob and I went to Hardaway together and palled around in the late 60's. I knew his Mom, Dad, Joe, and Dick and his incredible grandmother.
We drifted apart on similar but divergent paths. A year or two we communicated again through the internet and spoke on the phone.
I knew what kind of man Bob was and reading this Guest Book reinforces the love that Bob had for the community and the love that the community had for Bob.
He was one of the best people I've had the honor to know.
I am truly sorry for your loss.
To the Best family. Bob was a man with a big loving heart and he has helped me out tremendously. Regardless if its advice I'm seeking or just someone to talk to and I am grateful to have worked for a man like that. Bob has showed me don't dewel on the past look towards the future. Bob never judged me on my past and for that I am truley grateful.
Dear Best Family I am so sorry for your Lost I meet Mr. Best while working at the pain center he always had a smile on his face very nice and kind man he will be very missed God Bless you' all
Diana, I have just returned from out of town and am so sorry to hear this sad news. I met Bob while at The Woodruff Co., but my favorite memory of him is bringing my grandchildren to the Pumpkin Patch and Bob pulling us behind the big tractor! I can't imagine driving past Best Nursery now without thinking about him not being there. My deepest sympathy to you and your family for the loss of such a wonderful man. May God give you the strength in the days ahead and memories to cherish always, Love, Barbie
Diana, Little Diana and Matthew,
Joe and I are so deeply sorry for your loss. Though we did not see as much of him as we once did, we considered him to be a dear friend. We will miss him and think of all the good times we shared with all of you. We are here for you. May God Bless you all.
Love, Ann and Joe Tomlinson
To Bob's Family,
I met Bob many years ago while employed with The Woodruff Companies. He and I worked side by side but yet in different aspects of the apartment business. Bob always had time for an encouraging word, a listening ear and a helping hand. There aren't too many Real Men like Bob Best. His love for God, his family and life was evident everytime you came in contact with him. What a wonderful legacy. May the wonderful and loving memories help you in the most difficult days ahead. I felt blessed to have been able to call Bob Best my friend.
Bob was a very sincere and thoughtful person. He had his priorities in the right order and was a great example of that. He was one of those people that you truly enjoyed talking to and spending time with. He will be missed.
Diana, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I have been married to my Bob for 42 years and I can't imagine life without him. May God be with you and the family at this time. Love filled marriages are rare. Treasure the one you had.
Bob was an incredible friend to Columbus State University. He will be missed by so very many. our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family.
Diana and all the Best family,
When I remember Bob these words come to mind: best of friends, greatest respect and family. Bob was the best of friends. Even though we hadn't seen each other nearly as much as I would have liked the past few years, I always knew Bob was just a phone call away. I could call on him for anything and he would have been there. I have an incredible amount of respect for Bob and his family. It is amazing how he took a business of 5 workers (including him) and turned it into the nursery and landscaping company of today. He had a mind for business and was one of the hardest working people I've ever known. At the same time he cherished his time with his true loves' Diana and family. I will miss you my friend, as will my family and everyone who knew you.
Words can't even describe how I feel. I should have had more time with you. I know God wanted the best angels and he got one. I love you my love. Make heaven even more beautiful cause you know I will be there with you one day.
We always had the highest respect and love for Bob. Sam worked with him on many projects personally and professionally. The results were always the Best. He always made us smile and we looked forward to seeing the Best family at the Pumpkin Patch come October. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Our hearts are heavy and we share your unimaginable loss of your husband, father, brother and friend.
Sam and Dusty Wellborn

Diana and the entire Best family, I want to express my deepest sympathy to all of you. Bob was a wonderful friend to me over the past couple decades. During my battle with colon cancer, he was a source of frequent and meaningful support to me. He also talked with me often about his love of the people working at our Azalea Trace nursing facility for the care rendered to his mother.
Bob was a wonderful professional who was dedicated to rendering a quality service to his customer. He was very responsive to the needs of Columbus Regional Healthcare System during my tenure there. Bob was always totally responsive to my personal landscaping needs as well. He will be sorely missed by me for many reasons.
Diana, I am so sad to hear about Bob. I know you are lost right now without your best friend. The two of you knew the secret to a happy marriage. That it wasn't easy but it was worth all the work and love that y'all put into it. My heart aches for you & Diana girl & Matthew. Keep your chin up sweetheart. You are a survivor, we all know that but know that is ok not to be so tough. You have built a beautiful network of family & friends, call on them for your strength and know that you will see your beloved Bob again one day. Thinking of you, Debra (Bradfield) Fields

It saddens me to read of Bob's passing, he was always a pleasure to be around and I always enjoyed our conversations about the trials and tribulations of being in business for yourself.
My sincerest sympathy
I always counted on Bob to offer good, sound advice along weith a huge dose of love and caring. He is 1 of 3 of the finest men I have had the privilege to know in my life. There is not enough room here to say all that I could say about him and our love for him. Earl and I will miss you so much Bob. He went and bought a bottle of Crown yesterday and drank a tost to you. Look out for your much loved family until you can be with them again. Much love, Earl and Lynn

Bob and Diana have been so generous to our family for many years. I've never imagined Bob being gone; and I can say it is very lonely and sad. I wish we could tell him what he meant to us. He couldn't have been a better man. He was always wanting to help someone out. We've lost a wonderful man, but God needed him there. We send our love to Diana, Lil Di and Matthew during your time of grief. We will never forgot Bob, we will miss him dearly.

Dear Best Family
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Bob was a wonderful person. I knew him from working at Womack Nurseries many years ago. I know how he loved his plants and we had many good conversations and he taught me alot about the nursery business. I know that God will be with you during the difficult days to come.
Diana, Lil Diana and Matthew my thoughts and Prayers for Comfort and strength I lift up to The Lord for each of you. I never had the pleasure of meeting Bob, but I know he was a special Man loved by many! Diana I really have no words that could make it easier for you but please don't hesitate to call ANYTIME you want, just to cry or for what ever reason. Sending huge Hugs to all of you, my heart is broken and heavy with pain for You. Love You, Lee and family
We all loved uncle Bob very much. He was the most loving and careing man, that loved his family very much. He would do anything to take care of his family. We love you aunt Diana, Matthew, Diana and little Robert.
I was reminded of Bob when walking through our den yesterday. There on a desk was a soil moisture sensor Bob had given me a few months ago. I tried to pay him for it, but of course he said no. It reminds me of how sharing a person he was. I am keeping you in my prayers. Sincerely, Gary Gullatte
I didn't really get know him very well, but Bob did one thing for me and the rest of my family that will remain forever in my mind as one of the most amazing things I've ever had happen to me. My step-father adopted me into Bob's family a while back. Before I had really gotten to know people of the family and before even my mom and step-dad got married, he came upstairs while we were at a get-together at the Best home. He sat down with me and my sister and told us of his family and gave us 2 rare coins saying that he did this for all his nieces and nephews. We hadn't even known him for a full day, and he had already fully put his trust, faith, and love into us and fully welcomed us into his family. To this day, Bob will remain one of the most amazing people I have ever met for that one action. I couldn't ever fully accept someone that fast like he did, and it was just the warmest-hearted thing I had ever heard of anyone doing. He will always be and inspiration to me and my family.
Love you Uncle Bob.
My prayers and deepest sympathy go out to the family. May God hold you close as you learn to live without Bob.
Diana, You and your family are in our thoughts & prayers.
Although I didn't know Bob at all, I must share this story. A teller at a drive through, failed to returned my Drivers License, which she denied. As I was leaving town that day, I had to get a replacement. A few days later, Bob called my house and told my wife he found my license. He took the time to look up my local number and returned the License to me when I came back to Culumbus...That has been many years ago and I have never forgotten it. My prayers are that the family will be comforted, in their loss...
Our prayers are with you Best family! May God's love surround you at this time.
Dear Best Family,
I really got to know Bob over the last six months talking almost daily about our various projects we had together. Even the other day he insisted on sending two pumpkins and a big mum to my house for my wife whom he had never met. That's just the kind of man he was and I am proud to have known him as my friend . He will truly missed by all.
With deepest sympathy,
Hooper A. Turner Jr.
Diana, Matthew and Diana, I am so deeply sorry. My thoughts and prayers are with you. May God wrap his arms around you all and comfort you.
