Mr. Bill Gone but NEVER Forgotten, never on this day ever
You will remain forever in my memories. It was a blessing to have known you.
Gone but you will never be forgotten
Wow-have been out of town on vacation and was saddened to hear of Bill's death. I haven't seen Bill in many years however have thought of him often when tending to the many wonderful plants that he gave me over the years. I have know Bill since the Chickasaw was on Second Avenue and was his general manager for years at the Macon Road location - "back in the good ole' days". He was one of a kind. A special man. I never knew his current wife or family but I do offer them my condolences-they must miss him deeply. I wish I had been in town to participate in the celebration of his life. I learned many life lessons from him - loved his parents and how he cherished and honored them-he did so much with so little-he eventually could do anything-with nothing. I will miss you Bill Soerries.
Everyone will miss Bill and his wonderful smile and great sense of humor. He worked very hard all his life for his first priority, his beautiful wife and family. My favorite saying is you never die as long as someone remembers you. Bill will never die because we will never forget him. I am sorry I could not attend the service because of my judicial duties. With sympathy, Judge Bobby Peters.
I always looked forward to seeing Mr. Soerries come into my office every other month to pay his bill, he would always set down in a chair by my desk and we would talk like we have been knowen each other forever. I will miss his visites and his smile. My heart and prayers go out to his wife and family.
Bill..where did these almost 50 years go? Say hello to our friends for me. RIP Great Friend .Thank you for everything
Learned many a life lesson from Bill since early childhood. I will allways remember them. God bless to your family.

R.I.P. Bill it breaks my heart deary to have to say by for now. You truley had the most angel smile and alway had such the nicest things to say. you will be missed by so many. Much Love alway Friend.
Bill has been such an inspiration to me over the last 20 years. I had the privilege of working with Bill and Duk on their menus and advertising for many years. He had the amazing ability to bring out the best in a person and always encouraged my creativity. I feel that everyone who came in contact with Bill felt the same way. He was a very hands on type person and always had great ideas. Our last project together was completed just days before he passed. He would call me from Atlanta guiding me through it. It's the large banner advertising his buffet seen from Veterans. His last request to me was to "lighten the walls behind Debra and Doris so they really stand out" That's how Bill was, he wanted his employees to stand out. He encouraged people around him to stand out and I believe we are all better people for having known Bill Soerries. My sincerest sympathies Duk. I will miss Bill and always remember his smile.
My sincere condolences to Duk, family and friends., Thank you Bill for believing in me back in 1980, thanks to your support and guidance, I am still enjoying a singing career 33 years later. RIP, much Love

Rest in peace Bill. Thank you for all the good times at the Chick.
Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.
Mr. Bill was one of the classiest guys I have even known. I have never saw him with a frown on his face. I have never heard another person speak anything but nicely about him. So sorry for his family,he will be missed by all. R.I.P. brother.
At the age of 21 the Chickasaw was the first nightclub I went to to dance. I always drank cola instead of booze and that was okay with Bill. We had a group of us that had to go just about every night of the week-Bill always had something going on to keep his customers from getting bored. Everyone I knew always loved the Chickasaw and were sad to see it close. I moved to FL for about 30 years and just recently moved back-wish I had known he owned the Sports Page I would have stopped in to say hi! He will be missed!
I met Bill about 25 yrs ago when he brought his rotties and Duk's spitz into the vet I worked for. He loved his animals. He was a kind man and he will be missed.
Bill was known for his kind heart. He treated everyone as if they were family. He took great care of his wife, Duk, and their family. He will be missed by many. Our thoughts and prayers are with ALL of you ~!~ God Bless
