I met Jack through shooting. He was a good friend of my Father-In-Law, Richard Amundsen.

I always enjoyed talking guns with Jack via telephone. He gave me many tips and sent me some "care packages" of parts to keep the family guns in tip top shape for matches.

I shall miss him.

Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Mom called me yesterday and told me about your loss. She said as soon as she saw the envelope that she knew what was going to be inside. We spent some fun years together in Germany and have been fortunate enough to stay in touch after all these years. We are all deeply saddened by your loss and want to let you know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers as you go through the loss of Mr. Maple.

I served with Jack in the early 8o's when he was our Civilian Chief in the Pistol sectoin of the shop and the go to person. Jack was a great man who always shared his knowledge with grace and humor and was one of the finest men I ever met and served with. I am truly saddened to hear of his passing. The world has truly lost a great Man and a true craftsman in the world of firearms. Rest in Peace Jack.

To Jack's family. Jack was the sort of guy that never met a stranger. Very outgoing and personable. Great pistolsmith, a wealth of information on almost any subject. He will be missed by many.
