I so sorry for your loss. We enjoyed many nights with him. He was such a great man and I loved him dearly. I love you too, Melba and saying prayers for you in your time of sorrow. I guess my Daddy and Col. Bill will be having some laughs together in heaven now.

Melba my prayers are with you, may God comfort you in your loss of Bill.
It was an Honor to serve under Ltc. Bill Spurlock in our unit of the 199th Lt. Inf. Brigade Aviation Section (Fireball ) his leadership was valued by all that flew in our unit. He took over command right after the 1968 TET offensive and for weeks we were flying missions 24hrs daily. Pilots and crew exhausted, aircraft being used to the maximum, Infantry troops on the ground needing ammo, food and medical evacuations and every other support you can think of, any request from troops on the ground was 100% completed without loss of crew or aircraft. Ltc. Bill Spurlock kept all in order with brilliant leadership, We all valued him as an OFFICER and FRIEND and will miss him greatly. Till we meet again old Friend. You Served your Country for many years, "Thank You", you made your friends feel like family, God Bless you
