I did not know Colonel Archer personally, however, I feel as though I've known him all my life. I read an article about him in the Journal news dated April 9, 2007 when he was awarded the congressional gold medal. I was taken by his story so much so that I kept it for the last eight years and came across it today buried with other interesting articles I saved over the years. I Googled his name and found out of his passing. I wish I could have had the pleasure of meeting him in person. Perhaps I will. What a great man. I'm sure God has given him a special place, close by. God Bless Colonel Archer and his entire family.

I met then Major Lee Archer when he was my ROTC instructor at NYU in 1952-3. His stories of flying bomber cover over the Ploesti oil fields in Roumania remain one of my great class memories from my college days. So glad to see now how successul he continued to be after our brief encounter.

To the family of Lee Archer, you should be very proud of him. Certainly, someone who made a difference.

To the Archer Family
Col. Archer was a great man. He was Col Archer to me when I serviced and played for him as a young Airman at Stewart AFB, NY I had not seen Col Archer over the years, but I know he will be missed. He taught me alot about life and being a man, that I have instilled in my sons and still carry today. I was a young 20 yrs of age at that time and today I'm 71, but those value's from Col. Archer are greater than ever. God has another great man by his side and we lost a great man.
God Bless the Family
