I will miss the chats with Bob, I still use some of his sayings in everyday life. I first worked with him as an apprentice in early 1965. He was a good tutor as well as a guardian and teacher in the Uni of Life. We had many happy days and John (Mason) still talks of those days. John lives in Western Australia and I live in West Yorkshire. Modern day communication allows us to keep in touch . Neither John or I will ever forget Bob. There is a picture of the three of us in this Guest Book. L to R John, Bob, Bill,

So-long old pal, Rest now.

So sorry to have heard the sad news about my good friend and mentor, Bob. What I am feeling right now is extremely hard for me to put into words.but here goes. Bob was such a great person who will surely live on in our memories. He taught me so much all those many, many years ago whilst in charge of us apprentices. He made Bill & I into good tradesmen. Bob livened up every building-site we went on, there was always good craic when he was on-site. So glad I was able to catch up with him on a North End match when we made a fleeting visit to Preston from our new home here in Western Australia last year. So glad I was able to speak with him on the phone last week; and reminisce over the good old times. We share in your grief and send our love, with our affection and deepest condolences. RIP Bob, so long mate. John (Tarq) & Vilma; Carramar, Western Australia.
