When my wife was dying and near to a despair that I could not comprehend or ameliorate, I called upon Sylvia as a good neighbour - and she helped: enormously.
We were not altogether strangers; we lived within sight of one another's houses; but, at that end, we depended on her kindness and it sufficed.

My mum, when she was dying, asked Sylvia to look after my sister Brenda, and she did.
She was a great friend to my mum.
My mum loved Shirley Bassey and Daniel O'Donnell, God bless Sylvia
for taking mum to see them both, we bought the tickets, but didn't want to go with her, but Sylvia took her quite happily.
I remember getting the taxi to school with Janet, then one day she wasn't there anymore. I was a child and couldn't understand. Now I can't understand how after such a tragedy a mother who has lost a child became the most loving and caring person in the world.
I have a lovely photo taken in Wilmore House drive of 6 of us Much Hoole Girls, waiting to set off on walking day.
