The first time I heard Les Paul & Mary Ford I was just a toddler however, I knew what marvelous composition this was. It was "How High the Moon" I believe it topped the charts in 1955, I was three or four. In 1972-3, I purchased his "Phase four" album. I gave it a spin on my new Altec Lansing stereo system with four 48"X 20"X 20" separate speakers (pre-quadraphonic) and was suddenly harmonically "smacked" across the face with these unexpected wonderful tunes. It immediately became one of my album favorites. Sadly, my extensive vinyl collection was stolen about twenty five years back and it went along with the rest.
The excellence in these compositions is undeniably some of the most wonderful fusion of sounds that any human could ever wish to achieve. As a musician, Les Paul was clearly "super human."
Thank you Mr.Paul & God Bless. R.I.P.
