JOHN ADAIR

ESTERO, Fla. — John E. "Jack" Adair 76, of Estero, FL, a former resident of Bluffton, OH died Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Joanne's House at Hope Hospice in Bonita Springs, FL.

Jack was born on January 2, 1939 in Continental, OH, son of the late Gayland E. and Pauline (née Kohn) Adair. He became a Florida resident in 1991.

In 1957, he graduated from Spencerville High School and attended the University of Evansville. After moving to Jackson, MS he attended the Belhaven College and the Reformed Seminary. He married his wife, Kathy on November 23, 1958 in Beaverdam, OH

Jack was a salesman all of his life, first with Pepsi as a sales manager in Wapakoneta, OH, then Evansville, IN and Jackson, MS. He then worked for the Diller Medical Company as their sales manager in Bluffton and finally for the past 20 plus years as a Realtor with the John R. Wood Properties.

He currently was a Deacon at the First Baptist Church of Naples and also sang in the choir.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen A. Adair of Estero, FL; two daughters; Laurie (Ronald) Matter of Maumee, OH and Alison Adair Simpson of Brandon, MS; two sons; Scott (Frankie) Adair of Brandon, MS and Chris (Michelle) Adair of Lebanon, OH; one sister, Teri (Larry) Tipsord of Lima, OH and 7 grandchildren, Ryan and Jacqueline Matter, Kathleen Simpson, Meghan (Steven) Martin and Brandon, Jonathan and Nicole Adair and one great grandchild, Lennon Michelle Martin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Joyce Harruff and Peggy Koch; one brother, R. Bruce Adair and two nephews, Ronald and Rodney Harruff.

The family will receive friends Sunday, January 11, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, 239 So. Main St., Bluffton, OH.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 PM at the Ebenezer Mennonite Church, Bluffton with burial to follow in Ebenezer Mennonite Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Missions at Ebenezer Mennonite Church.

To Kathy and family, our sincere condolences, Jack will surely be missed. I was blessed knowing him from choir, he always was positive about things and upbeat despite his fight for health.
