DON SCHULTZ
LIMA — Don E. Schultz, 88, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at the Lima Convalescent Home.
Don was born January 31, 1926 in Piqua to the late Chester C. and Magdalene (Clausing) Schultz. On December 7, 1968 he married Dolores M. (Githens) Schultz, who survives in Lima. His first wife Dorothy (Briggs) Schultz preceded him in death.
Mr. Schultz was a 1943 graduate of Lima South High School. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during WWII as a Cryptographer. Don retired from Lima SOHIO/BP Refinery in 1986 after 40 years. He worked as a Supervisor in the Instrument Department.
He was a member of Bluelick Bible Church, and previously had been a member of Lima Baptist Temple for 50 years, where he served in many capacities.
Don enjoyed working in his workshop and for many years went to craft shows around the area. Mostly, he loved making things every Christmas for his family.
He was an avid fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals.
Don was blessed with four children, Tim (Kathy) Schultz, of Mulberry, FL., Christina (Phillip) Trout, of Indianapolis, IN., Jennifer (Carl) Pugin of Lima, and Alan L. Schultz, who preceded him in death; eight grandchildren, Donna (Ron) Stuttler, David (April) Schultz, Christa McLane, Craig Betts, Karen (Neil) Rowland, Kevin (Fiancee' Sarah) Schultz, Natalie (Brandon) Green, and Alison (Scott) Bentz; eighteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
Other survivors include four brothers, William (Pat) Schultz, of Chillicothe, Glenn (Helen) Schultz, of Indianapolis, IN., Dale (Betty) Schultz, of Fountain Hills, AZ., and Tom (Carol) Schultz, of Lima; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin 1:00 pm Friday, August 8, 2014 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Pastor Jim Neighbors will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 pm Thursday, August 7, at the funeral home.
