Tonight I was thinking about your father. I am sure your hearts are still aching and i was thinking about what i would say to you. I was raised without ever knowing my father. Based on that i want to say this to you. Your father is a hero. I hold him in high esteem and would have loved to have been blessed with a father like him. I know there is pain in your heart but somewhere deep within you have to feel such pride just being associated with a great man who happened to be your father.

TO GIVE YOUR LIFE SO OTHERS CAN LIVE IS THE TRUE DEFANITION OF A HERO THATS WHAT MR LIBRESCU IS
July 11, 2007
To the family of Liviu Librescu, the Jewish Federation of Huntsville and North Alabama have made a donation to the Honor Flights in the name of Liviu Librescu. The honor flights send Veteran's of World War II to visit their memorial in Washington DC. We recognize their heroism as we recognize that of Liviu Librescu. A man who through his final act proved what human potential is capable of even after suffering the worst inhumanities that have ever been perpetrated against mankind. We will continue to recognize Liviu each year during Yom HaShoah here in Huntsville, Alabama.

Sincerely,
Laura King
President Jewish Federation of Huntsville and North Alabama

My heart goes out to the family and all who knew Professor Librescu.

For reasons both obvious and incomprehensible, the news of this tragic event affected me deeply. I mourn not only the loss of life, but the perception that the world is a safe place and a belief that there is a basic goodness to humanity which unites us all.

Yet the selfless actions of Professor Librescu offer some comfort. It gives me faith in my fellow man, and offers me hope in the possibility of a better tomorrow. For this, I thank him.

To this family, and all those involved in this tragedy, my prayers are with you.
