The bonds of love are stronger than death, May our loved ones continue to be with us; may they bless us and inspire us to goodness, in death as they did in life.

LOVE YOU FOREVER AND EVER, MY PAPA …
SEE YOU AND MOMMY SOON !!!!!

I am responding for Edith Manchester(née Roberts) who is unable to communicate in any meaningful way. She told me stories of growing up in China and knowing the Magees who were her god-parents. I know she wrote a letter or two to David and enjoyed talking about reconnecting. I am sorry for the loss to the Magee relatives and friends around the world.

For my eternal Papa ~

"For we are strangers before them, and sojourners,
as were all our fathers."

I CHRONICLES 29:15

Dear Franny ~ My heart and love reach out to you to at this sad (yet celebratory!) time. My father loved you and needed you so much ... and you were there for him (and for us) every
step of the way. That he lived to the ripe old age of 87 is a
tribute to you and your unceasing devotion. Our gratitude
(and his) is beyond measure, a testament to your undying
LOVE ... we are eternally grateful ... the friction falls away ~
is now dross ... the LOVE is what remains ... and is all that
matters. My father loved you so very much and always will ~
and his children will always love you too, with our whole hearts. Love is ALL. David, Jr. XO

I visited you after your surgery. I did not want to say goodbye, knowing it might be the last time I see you on this journey on earth.
You said "I could not thank you enough when I did the translation for your presentation at your church International Day. I said " I, and the Chinese people could never thank you enough."
I have not met another Christian better than you. You are always in my heart.

Thank you for being my friend.

Dear Papa ~ While I am inconsolable at the loss of you, what comes fast behind is a flood-tide of gratitude for the incalculable loving acts you bestowed upon us all. My heart and mind are filled with a patchwork quilt of precious memories floating, dancing upon the heavenly clouds carrying you to Heaven ... especially flashes of the early years ~ the splendiferous birthday parties, the warm twinkling Christmases and magical Christmas morns at 520, the perfectly chosen gifts, the bike rides in Central Park, the car
trips to Jones Beach (in the blue Ford), the years at 130 E. 94th St. (with Lala & Aunt Min upstairs!), the Christmas parties
across the street at Rollo Thompson's townhouse, with our dear friends the Acevedos, dinners at The Cattleman (riding
shotgun on the horse-drawn carriage!), Lonchamps, Chinese
dinners at Tin Tsen at 125th street, XMAS luncheons at The House of Morgan Bank (wax-paper wrapped turkey sandwiches) & visits with Santa, your famous liverwurst sandwiches and listening to sound effect records, our birthday party at the NYPD Police Academy, countless rounds of golf (and countless strokes!) with you and your dearest friend Clinton Smullyan, your sweet goodnight lullaby singing to us ... the memories are endless ~ as is our LOVE for you. You shall never really leave us ... you are with us now as ever, increasingly so. You taught us so much ! We are grateful beyond words to both you and Franny ... We shall be with you again ... and soon. I miss you so very, very much ~ I LOVE YOU with my whole heart ... and I always will.
ALL MY LOVE, YOUR LOVING SON, DAVID XXXXXOOOOO
