This is a random way to stumble across a guest book but I was thinking of Reverend Brown today-- I'm not even sure why. I was sitting on my couch and somehow I started thinking about going to church as a kid, at new city UMC, and how much I enjoyed going when reverend brown was there. He was so interesting and kind and easy to relate to and now that I'm saying this I'm wondering if he ruined me for all other reverends because starting off with him as a model is a pretty hard act to follow. I was very sorry to hear of his passing when I did, but please know that he made such a wonderful impression on people that some of us will Google him at 4:30 on a Wednesday because we are just fondly remembering him.

I'm writing this on Don's 80th birthday, I grew up with Don, I lived at 101 w. Allendale ave. and Don lived a few doors down from me.
We did everything together until I moved away to Ridgewood in 1949.
I dated his sister Meta, we called her Sis then
I have a picture of Don and me with our rifles and helmets standing by our underground fort, behind his dad' garage.
I could go on forever and I am regretful I didn't touch base with him in our latter years.
Happy 80th Don May you rest in piece.

Dear Gail and family. When I heard of Don's death, memories of him leading my mother's (Alice Bohlke Borst) funeral service flashed in my awareness Don and you all were a great gift to Spring Valley UMC and to our family. We celebrate Don's life and pray for you as you give him back to God.
