I can only echo Kareem's beautiful remembrance of John and the effect he had on people. John was truly one of a kind - an incredibly gifted and very special person. I'm deeply grateful for the time I was able to be part of his everyday life - first in Marlboro at Envirohealth, and then in Worcester as his roommate for more than 6 years. There were so many adventures and so many people! John was a such a people-magnet. Life was never dull with JC in the house.
After we both moved out of Worcester, we stayed in touch with sporadic phone calls and unsuccessful attempts at getting together. My last attempt was another spontaneous trip to Wendell - just days ago - where I learned the impossible, unthinkable news of John's passing...
It's been a few years since I last saw John, but there hasn't been a day when I haven't thought of him ("high-impact Johnny" we used to call him) and I don't think there'll be a day going forward when I don't think of him.

Thank you, Johnny, for your friendship and for being you - I hope you know how much you're loved and missed.

I can't think of anyone in my life more inspiring than John Motley Cruden…. I also never met anyone that knew him that was not inspired, somehow, by him.. His hi energy, his good intention, his deep sincerity, his sensitivity and consideration, no one like JC. There was no idea or vision too grand , none out of reach, no obstacle too large. I don't know anyone else that could make anything you ever dreamed for or imagined seem as achievable and real as when you were with JC. All for the love of life.

There was more to do, more times to have, more days together.. Knowing exactly the cause now or in a week, or a month or ever, won't change that our Dear Friend has departed early, way too early.. He will be terribly missed. May JC's memory will remain deep within us, intact, forever.

May the Lord favor you John, as you gave light and wisdom to all those you loved. Well your hawk flies to rally around and your ever ready flashlight will always be lit to know you in everlasting life. Blessings.
