Born March 2, 1923, Norma Katherine DeFreese Moore was the 10th of 12 children in the family of Harry and Mary Adelia DeFreese in Hillburn, New York. In 1943, she enlisted into the US Army. She met and married Staff Sgt. Willard Moore. Bill and Kay were married 55 years, until his passing in 2000.

Blessed with good health through the final days of her life, Norma passed from this life to the Eternal on Sunday, October 7, 2012. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Lipscomb, and Daria Holcomb; sons Willard Moore, Jr, and Christopher Moore, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the Brook Presbyterian Church, 6th Street, Hillburn, NY.
