Dear Lynne, Michael, Jon and Grandkids,

I'll always remember Sam!
As Sam's brother-in-law, Sam always told me that he thought of me as the brother he never had; but maybe he thought of everyone as a brother or sister - always ready to lend a hand with a large smile on his face and ready to crack a joke or tell a funny story.
He seemed bigger than life and had an enormous capacity of knowledge such that he could easily carry on any conversation - sometimes forever! And don't get him started on sports topics because you might never get another word in edgewise…
He was always there for us when we needed help - for example, when we moved back to New York in the early 70's he helped us move in, or he helped us out with storm damage, or he was there to watch our kids during summers at "Camp Hill". But again, he would do those things for all friends, neighbors or kids, since he was a great friend, loved kids and spent his life as a great husband, father, grandfather, teacher and counselor.
We miss him, and I'm sure that he is missed by all that met and loved him. I'm sure that he is now in a very special better place.

Dear Michael and Jon,
My deepest condolences for the loss of your dear father.
Sam was a very proud dad, and rightly so, about his two sons. He and I never missed a soccer game at Tappan Zee H.S.and cheering from beginning to end.
Sam was always a gentle man among gentlemen. The community of South Orangetown is going to miss him. He was alwys ready to lend a hand.
Sam, God Bless You!

Hello Mike.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of your father, and know that words in times like these are completely inadequate to provide much comfort when compared to the pain associated with loss of a loved one. Reading about your father as a husband of 45 years, and a dedicated teacher, coach, and community servant, I get the sense that he was a man of tremendous depth and compassion, and in knowing you that he was a father who loved his children and grand children, to whom he imparted the important life lessons.

May God bless and comfort your family in this time of sadness for your loss as well as in the celebration of a life well lived.

Sincerely.

Rob

Lynn, Mike, Jon, Jenn, I was so sorry to hear about Sam. I know how hard this is for you. I just remember Sam's love of life, all of the kids, and the family ( and we were all his family ). I will always remember him around the Holiday's in Raleigh. We were lucky to have him in our lives, and he was lucky to have all of you. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.
