Dear Bellson Family, We are all touched by the musical contribution of Mr. Bellson over the years, and we are touched now by his passing. We offer these words of comfort found in God's Word "Do not marvel at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out......" So sorry for your loss.

Bellson Family:

I am sorry for your loss, may the God of all comfort and tender mercies be with you in your time of deep sorrow. 2Corinthians 1:3 and 4

A great man will be missed, but GOD has a better plan for him to join the marching band on his golden street of glory. May the family find peace, love and strength and trust in the Lord.

I remember watching you play the Great New York State Fair with Count Basie back in 1960, I think. I was ten years old at the time.

You were the reason I started playing the drums and I never had a chance to say "thank you" !

May God open up his arms, lead you into his Kingdom and have the finest drum set for you to play ! God bless and RIP !

Mr. Bellson was a rare gentleman. I remember when he was staying at a hotel where I worked when he was performing at the Circle Star Theater in San Carlos, CA. This was in 1976. While he was lounging by the pool we talked quite a while and I was amazed that he would take time to talk with a college kid. I have often reflected on that conversation and appreciated the words he spoke to me. My family's condolences to the Bellson family. The world has lost someone special.

Aw, man - This guy was recognized by all the players as the greatest. Not just as a drummer and bandleader, but as a fine person. We'll all miss him along with his family. I had the distinct privilege of playing trumpet with him for Tony Bennett a couple times, and it was a gas. RIP Louie.

May you rest in peace Louie. I personally got my style of playing drums, after seeing and listening to you when I was 12 at your clinic. I was hooked on your genuine style.
I must thank you for sharring your style with the sticks.. as it worked out very well for me. God Bless Louie you were a pioneer in many ways and you are a tribute to all drummers and musicians worldwide.

May the comforting thought from the Bible book of Revelation, the 21st chapter, verse 4 be of comfort to you. It reads: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” I offer my sincere condolences to you all.

Rest in Peace. I enjoyed you Louis & Pearl on TV in the 50's & 60's. He had a long & wonderful career.
