Not only was David a great leader but a great human being. I was blessed enough to spend time with David fishing in the past year. Just 3 weeks ago at Taylorsville Lake, he almost fell out of my boat trying to retrieve a fishing rod. I know we all lost a good friend but I lost my BEST Friend. My heart goes out to Donna and the family.

Gary and I wish to extend our deepest sympathy to David's family. Our friendship with David goes back to his Valley Station days. He was in our wedding party in 1972. Many years have passed since we last spoke with David but I'm sure he was still the fun loving man we knew. He will always live in our memory.

I have known David for the past eight years or so from my work with Emergency Management. He was such a kind man, always willing to help in any way. The thing I will miss most is his infectious smile. The Commonwealth of Kentucky has lost a great leader. May his friends and family find peace in the days, weeks and months ahead.
